As much as I dislike having to say, this piece has been a headache in every area of production, I opt for acrylic, un-primed canvas and a homemade stretcher, I primed the canvas with a product I don't usually use and was disappointed with it, the acrylic paint sinking in as though it water to a cloth, the long and short of it, I hade to apply more coats than usual and the grain of the coarse raw canvas even though I sanded it was a pain for doing detain work OM over and over I went hahaha I can laugh now but I was swearing at the time, the subject matter unusual it developed over four months, it was a love, hate relationship mm mmm liked it then hated from day to day, not sure where I would end up, other than I wanted to represent a story of beauty in nature, elevating plant above animal as a food source, the animals left to enjoy the benefits of life as nature intended, chickens a bird that can fly free from the confines of cages, baby lambs left to be nurtured by their mothers, frogs croak and bees collect pollen, fish swim, and butterflies play their role, baby goat loved by a child not yet conditioned to show affection to only cats, dogs etc, I represented the wild that is also exploited the Kangaroo another victim of human consumption etc I could of kept adding, this was another problem with this painting, knowing when to stop. And then came time to photograph, I knew it would be problematic all my photos shoots take as long as to do the painting, I usual spend days finding the right spot in a tiny unit with inadequate lighting, I post to discover WRONGE I wait a couple of days then give it another try, mm mmm ok not level, shine, colours wrong, sheep detail not visible, Kangaroo no detail, green frog not green  etc etc ect  Today I tried again and though it is a little better, the colours are still not as bright as the painting, and when in the Gimp shop I try to correct, the sheep turn more white without detail. I give up, last weeks shoot the sheep looked better but the Kangaroo was lost, this week the ................................ Anyhow the painting sitting in the studio is a lovely show of colour and I enjoy looking at it much more than online, where I see many imperfections.
