My most recent piece, one of my quickies that I enjoy creating, after a period of slow realistic work that can take months to complete. This piece started life different to it's finish as is often the way with me, an idea changed mid steam, I like working without having to copy an image whether life or photo, my mind unwinds and I work very fast without a lot of thought other than colours, I find the expression has more impact, I capture a feel that fiddly work often stiffens, Anyhow here she is my little orphan, well that is what she looked like to me when finished, an imaginary lass that is no one particular but everyone in a sense, we all have our moments of feeling wretched. When I finished working I reflected on my many styles and techniques AGAIN, it appears more psychological than anything, a way of addressing an imbalance, I thought this fast work more Yang and Yang is good for releasing pent up energy, tedious slow work Ying requiring more patience and concentration, aching back and neck hahaha one is Mars and the other Venus yes considering I have an Aries ascendant and am double mars ruled fast work is therapy for me, at the same time Venus slow plodding work is a state of calm I have been working on this lifetime, so in a sense they both serve a purpose for me that is healing, it appears it not so with other artists who are in balance doing one style. Anyhow that is the esoteric answer and makes sense to me
